Prunus lusitanica

Il Prunus Lusitanica è un arbusto o piccolo albero sempreverde dal naturale portamento conico, può raggiungere i 4-6 metri di altezza. Ha foglie alternate ovali di colore verde lucido intenso nella parte superiore, più chiaro in quella inferiore. A inizio estate produce gradevoli infiorescenze profumate di colore bianco che appaiono riunite in racemi lunghi 15-25 cm; seguono i frutti che sono piccole bacche purpuree che diventano nere a maturità raggiunta.

Prunus lusitanica is an evergreen shrub or small tree growing to 4-6m tall.  The leaves are alternate, oval, glossy dark green above, lighter below. It produces small white fragrant flowers on erect or spreading racemes 15–25 cm long in early summer. The fruit is a small cherry-like drupe green or reddish green at first, turning dark purple or black when ripe in late summer or early autumn.
